What does Anchored Homeschool Academy co-op offer?

Community & Connection
We believe that meaningful community is at the heart of a thriving co-op. Our desire is not only for students to learn together, but for friendships—both among children and parents—to be intentionally cultivated. To support this, we host a variety of outings, field trips, and fellowship opportunities throughout the year beyond our regular co-op day. These may include trips to the zoo or local museums, park playdates, nature hikes, and other shared experiences that encourage connection, joy, and friendship. Through learning side by side and spending time together in different settings, we seek to build a strong, supportive community that grows together throughout the year.

What are the requirements for admission?

To be considered for admission, families must agree with our mission and affirm our Statement of Faith.  All families must attend a local church that fully aligns with the core beliefs and values of our co-op, and must have at least one child who is 3 years old or older. The admission process begins when you fill out the application form and submit the $200 non-refundable application fee. Once your application form is received with payment, our Leadership Team will contact you to schedule an in-person family interview. Please note that acceptance to our program is contingent upon ensuring a mutual fit with our co-op community and a clean background check for each adult volunteer.

How much does it cost to participate in the co-op?

Application Fee

Every family is required to pay a non-refundable $200 application fee. This fee helps cover building costs, supplies, system setup, enrollment, and insurance, among other expenses. Returning families: this fee is reduced to $100 if re-enrollment is completed by April 30 of the current school year.

    Daycare

For little ones who have older siblings enrolled in co-op, daycare is offered from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.*

The yearly cost for daycare is $250 for children two years old and under. Parents of students who turn three during the year and wish to have their child transition into preschool must contact the Leadership Team and pay a pro-rated tuition for the class.

    Student Tuition

For 2026-2027, tuition is $750 per student from preschool (age 3) through middle school for the core (morning) program. Our high school program includes a study hall period, so tuition is $500 per student in 9th grade and up.*

Tuition for the afternoon elective classes will vary by subject and required supplies.

Tuition is expected to be paid in full no later than August 1, 2026. If you prefer to pay in installments rather than a lump sum, please reach out to set up a monthly payment schedule.

Refunds: Withdrawals made before September 1st are eligible for a tuition refund minus a $100 cancellation fee. Withdrawals on or after September 1st are non-refundable, and 100% of tuition remains due, regardless of attendance. This policy does not change in the case of involuntary removal from the program (such as for severe behavior or safety violations).

    Payment Plans

We understand that for large families, it may be challenging to pay the full tuition by August 1st. Please email us, and we will be happy to sit down with you and work with your family individually on a personalized plan.

    Supply Fee

Rather than asking every family to purchase (and keep track of) supplies for each individual child plus a list of shared items, you will pay a flat fee of $30 per student and Anchored will distribute existing supplies to each classroom and purchase more as needed. This includes basic supplies (pencils, paper, scissors, glue, etc.) as well as craft items, all science supplies, and shared goods like paper towels, wipes, and hand soap. This supply fee will be automatically added to your family account and is payable with tuition (due Aug. 1st).

    Who teaches the classes?

Since Anchored Homeschool Academy is entirely volunteer-run, every teacher, aide, and administrator is a parent or grandparent from a current co-op family.

What are the expectations for parents?

At least one parent or guardian from every family is required to serve during co-op hours in a classroom or support role. When you apply, you will be asked to select your top 3 preferences for a volunteer role. Options include classroom aide, cleaning crew, and more. You may also request to volunteer in the same class as your student. Lead teachers are also needed, although we generally ask that you participate in the co-op for at least one year before taking on any type of leadership role.

What subjects are taught and what curriculum is used?

    Curriculum Overview

We provide a full day of classes from 9:00 am to 3:15 pm. Subjects include science, physical education, Bible, worldview, theology, geography, and history. Because our purpose as a co-op is to supplement and enrich what you're teaching at home, you are encouraged but not required to follow the same curriculum that we use at co-op for these subjects. We do not teach math or language arts; please use whatever curriculum works best for you and your students.

In the afternoon, for 1st grade through high school we offer fun extracurricular activities such as nature clubs, art, and STEM classes. For kindergarten and under, our programming concludes at noon.*

All curriculum will be selected by the curriculum committee and may vary from year to year.

    Textbooks

For students in 2nd grade and up, you may need to purchase a few textbooks (science and history), as well as a few novels for literature studies (or borrow from a public library).

What about homework, grading, and tests?

    Homework

At Anchored Co-op, we strive to strike a balance between providing a space to build lasting relationships and offering a structured, meaningful educational experience. Homework will progressively increase as students rise in age. Preschool and Kindergarten will have little to no homework. Students in 1st-3rd grade may have reading assignments to complete at home. Students in 4th/5th grade will have assigned at-home reading each week and occasional projects that require some work at home. Middle school students will also have assigned at-home reading each week, as well as some writing assignments and projects that must be finished at home.

Completing homework between co-op days helps students come to class prepared so we can make the most of our time together. When reading and occasional projects are completed at home, class time can be used for discussion, hands-on learning, and working on bigger, long-term projects. If these assignments are not completed, students may fall behind, and the teacher will follow up with the student and parent to address the issue and help get them back on track.

    AnchorTests and Grading

Middle school students will have regular quizzes throughout the year, and grades may be given on individual writing and other assignments. Elementary students may have occasional short quizzes.

Anchored does not assign overall grades to students at any age, nor do we keep track of students' academic records. We also do not provide opportunities for state-required tests at this time.
